Lithium battery test summary
Manufacturers and subsequent distributors of cells or batteries and equipment powered by cells and batteries manufactured after 30 June 2003 must make available the test summary as specified in the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, Revision and amend. 1, Part III, sub-section 38.3, paragraph 38.3.5.
You can download doc packs for the cell/batteries installed in the system and/or battery shipped as FRU from this website. The doc packs will include the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and Lithium battery Test Summary UN 38.3.5.
Please search by NetApp System Model and/or NetApp Battery (FRU) to download the doc pack.
If you can't find the part number you need, please email us at ng-battery-logistics@netapp.com
Starting in January 2022 IATA is eliminating Section II for FRU shipments (single battery shipments, quantity 1) from the Packing Instructions for Lithium Batteries (FRU) and Lithium-Ion Batteries (FRU). All battery FRU shipments will need to follow Section IB following the standard dangerous goods requirements (proper documentation, labeling, handling & IATA trained).
