Korea University Medicine uses NetApp to improve patient care and satisfaction

Korea University Medicine, established in 1928, is a comprehensive medical institution comprised of the College of Medicine, three hospitals and three graduate schools that contribute to the improvement of healthcare and medical services.

It wants to build a cloud-based hospital information system for personalized precision medicine by 2021, but it needs to make some improvements.

KU Medicine decided to adopt NetApp HCI because of its differentiating factors and excellent performance.

Kim Byung-il Professor, Korea University Medicine

It lacked space and could not increase the quantity of hardware, so it adopted NetApp HCI to streamline the infrastructure and provide a high-performance virtual-server platform.

NetApp HCI’s server virtualization and integrated management enabled easier access to multiple servers and backup. Also, the failure detection and auto failover capabilities guaranteed the high stability of server operations. KU Medicine is expecting to gain higher scalability and cost savings for the future system expansion.
