2021 was a phenomenal year for FlexPod® innovations. Accelerated customer adoption for FlexPod hybrid cloud and FlexPod on-premises cloud solutions further strengthen our market position as the leading converged platform for enterprise applications worldwide.

And we’re far from slowing down. We’ve received tremendous feedback and input from customers and partners alike. The combination of FlexPod on-premises and FlexPod hybrid cloud solutions has encouraged many customers to imagine interesting and creative use cases to optimize their datacenter environments. In addition to increasing flexibility and efficiency, IT can also create new solutions more rapidly to meet the needs of their users.

In 2022, FlexPod is ramping up the pace of innovations. Here are several exciting solutions we’re rolling out to kick off the new year.

FlexPod with ONTAP 9.10

The latest NetApp® ONTAP® 9.10 release is packed with new features and enhancements for storage efficiency, data protection, manageability, security, anti-ransomware, and much more. FlexPod installed base systems can enjoy these new capabilities via a simple uninterrupted ONTAP software upgrade.

Additionally, ONTAP 9.10 provides support for the brand new high-end AFF-A900 storage platform that delivers unrivaled performance for demanding mission-critical workloads. Using FlexPod with AFF-A900, customers will enjoy unprecedented scalability, security, and performance for their enterprise applications.

FlexPod disaster recovery solution for hybrid cloud

This solution integrates the enterprise capability of FlexPod’s with the strength of NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP and Cisco Intersight Services. It provides comprehensive and automated disaster recovery across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. Data is efficiently replicated from FlexPod to CVO cluster in the cloud. AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud are all supported. Using Cisco Intersight, the solution deployment and orchestration are greatly simplified and automated.

In the event of an on-premises disaster, IT can seamlessly failover to the Cloud Volumes ONTAP cluster in the cloud. Business can quickly resume operation with no data loss.

Here’re several demos to showcase the FlexPod hybrid cloud disaster recovery solutions.

A new FlexPod validated design (CVD) is also available with detail information on how to deploy this disaster recovery solution.

FlexPod disaster recovery solution for on-premises

Many enterprise customers still require on-premises cloud for various reasons. FlexPod with MetroCluster is a proven disaster recovery solution to protect again site outages – planned and unplanned. Customers can easily failover to the secondary site transparently, and continue operations with no data loss and no downtime.

FlexPod is now expanding the disaster recovery solution portfolio with SnapMirror Business Continuity. This new integrated solution provides the same benefits of MetroCluster, but more importantly it enables the failover policy to be controlled at the application level. The FlexPod configuration at the secondary site can also differ from the primary site. This granular and flexible failover capability allows customer to fine tune their disaster recovery strategy to optimize resources and investment. No additional hardware, software, or networking are needed.
