How Soccour Solutions Uses NetApp HCI to Help Customers Do More With Less

Meghan Cevey

At Texas-based Soccour Solutions, the key performance metric is successful customers. That’s why David Duncan, principal solutions engineer at Soccour, has embraced NetApp HCI to support his customers’ business goals.

Soccour uses NetApp HCI to solve problems quickly and easily

Soccour provides custom technology solutions and support, covering the full spectrum from data storage and cloud solutions to managed services and IT automation. Their services are tailor-built to meet each customer’s needs, but Duncan says most of their customers have two challenges in common: they need to implement solutions quickly and they have to do more with less.

“With NetApp HCI, we’re giving our customers simplicity,” says Duncan. “We can stand up an HCI deployment in 45 minutes, which gives our customers a no-ops feel.”

HCI is easy to deploy and manage because it brings storage and compute infrastructure together under a single interface that’s based on software-defined storage and computing. This is ideal for lean organizations because it eliminates the need for specialized hardware skills in storage, compute, or networking.

In addition, HCI is based on a pay-as-you-go cost model that scales to match business growth, which keeps costs in line with true business requirements. Forrester Research reported in 2018 that HCI lowers operating costs and accelerates deployment.

Soccour uses NetApp HCI to deliver top-tier application support

According to global research and advisory firm Gartner, at least 20 percent of all business-critical applications will have moved from traditional infrastructure to HCI by 2020.

Soccour places a heavy emphasis on application support because that’s what drives their customers’ success. Whether it’s a retailer, a financial services provider, or a government agency, Soccour’s customers need their applications delivered quickly and consistently.

HCI is an ideal solution for companies that have multiple applications running on the same infrastructure because it eliminates competition between resources and provides predictable performance. NetApp HCI also offers an industry first: a quality of service (QoS) that guarantees minimum performance by application.

That, says Duncan, delivers exactly what he needs. “The single most important thing we’ve achieved is happy customers,” he says. “At the end of the day, that’s what we strive for.”

Soccour partners with NetApp to meet emerging customer needs

Soccour has been a NetApp partner since 2008 and has recently become an HCI Champion Partner, after embracing NetApp HCI as part of its customer offerings.

“We’re excited that our partnership with Soccour has expanded to include NetApp HCI,” says Jeff McCullough, Vice President of Americas Partner Sales at NetApp. “NetApp’s success is directly linked to the success of our partners, and it’s incredible to watch our partnerships evolve to meet our customers’ changing business needs.”
