Are You Listening?

Data communication strategies require good listening! My wife and I have been (blissfully) married for almost 28 years. We have raised twin daughters, who have grown into outstanding adults. We have both been successful in our careers and are genuinely happy. You would think that during this nearly 3-decade-long romance, we would have learned to effectively communicate with each other—ha!

Effective communication means, in addition to listening to another person, understanding what the other person means. For example, when my beautiful bride asks, “Do you want to go out for dinner tonight?” she means, “When are you going to start cooking dinner?” It has taken me a while to figure that one out.   Effective communication in a relationship is a lot like trying to get all your data and applications to communicate with each other. In industries like manufacturing and warehousing, enormous amounts of data are being generated with the Internet of Things (IoT). The thing is, the structure of that data often is incompatible with existing enterprise applications.

That incompatibility (lack of good communication) makes it costly and time-consuming for you to implement adjustments to meet your customer demand. The question then becomes, “How do I derive full value from all this data?” Or, more colloquially, “How do I get all these new data sources to talk to my applications so that I can understand what it all means?”

NetApp®, SAP, Fraunhofer, and objective partner have teamed up to help you meet that challenge. Together, we have made it possible for you to derive value from your data regardless of where it resides or where it was created: the core, the edge, or the cloud.

Get started today. To learn how to help your apps and data communicate better so that you can derive greater value from all your data, check out our brief (about 2 minutes each) video and demonstration.
